Historical Society in the basement of the former Adrian Library. They have a huge obituary file. The Adrian Library (and the County Library too) has the Daily Telegram on microfilm. If you look up the paper following the date he died, it might have a story. While you are there, look up George Stetten to see if his obit answers your questions about how he died. The Tecumseh Library has the Tecumseh Herald on microfilm and an index to help you find the obituaries in that paper. You can use the same free on-line web-sites that we have been using to answer your questions. You already have found Rootsweb Message boards. Go up to "Searches" above and explore WorldConnect and the other databases, too. Here are links to some other websites with Michigan info to get you started. http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html# http://haldigitalcollections.cdmhost.com/seeking_michigan/seek_advanced.php http://quod.lib.umich.edu/m/micounty/ http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/index.shtml http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp And this is just scratching the surface. The State of Michigan has the 1870 census images for the entire state online and extracts of death records from the 1800's. Have fun making new discoveries, Anne Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
