Pifer became the first postmaster of this rural post office in Ogden Township on May 17, 1897. The office closed November 30, 1904. If you study Ogden Township on the 1893 Atlas, you will find the names Mulberry and Pifer in sections 33 and 34. The index to the 1893 Atlas shows only one Geo H. Pifer in the county, he living in section 33 of Ogden Township. Located on the 1921 and 1928 Plat maps, Mulberry was found very near the border of Ogden and Riga Townships, between Sections 25 and 36.
