I search Canadian records and found no marriage for them there or a birth record for either of them. The 1850 census states that William was born in Canada so the person living in Conn. would not be your william. I would say for someone born that far back you will be lucky if you find any documents without knowing where they were born in canada. Since no one is still living that was alive to know them that also creates a problem. Have you visited the court house in Sylvania Ohio to check their records?
