The original requester was trying to established that Charles Clark who died in 1893 was the son of Noah Clark and Mary Polly Harkness Clark. Charles death in 1893 is listed in the LDS indexing, but the name was transcribed as Christ instead of Charles, you can go to the page and see it is Chas. Unfortunately the second page does not show that Charles was the son of Noah, it shows unknown. But when Noah died in 1869, he death also in the LDS indexing does show that he was the son of Jehiel and Parthenia. Just goes to show that they were not as good in 1893 as they were in 1869 in keeping records, which is very unfortunate. Charles was buried from Iron Creek Church Manchester Twp, and the original requester is seeking info from them to see if it shows Charles is the son of Noah. Charles and his wife Lydia are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery Manchester Twp, and Noah and his wife and other Clarks are buried in Reynolds Corner Cemetery Manchester Twp. Don't know why Charles and Lydia are not buried with the other Clarks, when he funeral was at Iron Creek Church not far from Reynolds Corners. Maybe they had a disagreement. Land records filed in Washtenaw Co show Noah transferred land to Ansel Witherell in 1864 several years before he died. Ansel was his son in law. Ansel was married to Mary Clark daughter of Noah. Lydia wife of Charles died in 1904. You would think she certainly knew who Charles' parents were when he died in 1893. But maybe there was a rift in the family when Noah transferred is land to Ansel, and she chose not to give the information for the death record of Charles. Too bad these things happen. Hopefully the original requester can establish relationship of Charles to Noah and her friend can finally complete the paper work to join the DAR.
