I think I have an old pic somewhere. She was on a bowling league with my grandparents & parents. I have a picture of me & my younger brother on "old" Jacks lap....he was Santa Claus in the old store at xmas. I was not happy in that picture. I'm sure I thought I was too old to be sitting on Santa's lap! :) Does anyone remember Montgomery's Merry-go-round at the edge of the Pavillion parking lot. Yes, I remember the little group of "rides" that used to be on the east end of that pavilion; it was there all summer long! My folks would just turn me loose w/ a fistful of change to ride and ride and stay out of their hair! They were in the hotel's restaurant/bar listening and dancing to the live organist who played the most wonderful music every weekend! The village of Manitou Beach, a few streets west of Tibbs' IGA, has only one bar now, but it is busy in the summer. I can even remember when the pavilion was a roller rink before it became a dance hall. What year did it burn down? Anyone know?
