I missed that one! I'm beginning to think that Charles probably had died before the census was taken, since his children were all scattered - at least those from his first marriage. Nothing regarding Charles was found in the Washtenaw county records beyond his second marriage there. Perhaps the only ones I am missing now from the census would be wife Nancy and their young daughter Mary. I'll also have to look into Sydney Reynolds and family to see if there might be some less obvious connection. I've also noticed a William H. Hoy in the area prior to Charles H. Hoy's arrival to the area. Charles did name a son William H., so perhaps there was some connection. I believe there may have been a widowed Mrs. Hoy in the 1840 census, but that doesn't give a lot to go on. Thanks again!
