She was born March 7, 1925, in Kalamazoo, to Benjamin and Mary (Mepyans) Gruizinga. She was married to Martin A. Weyenberg Sr. in 1943. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1949. She later married Clifford Ernst on September 1, 1951. Evelyn had been self-employed as a day care provider for 25 years. She was fondly known as "Ernstie" to her many children. Evelyn is survived by a son, Martin Weyenberg Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Adrian; two daughters, Janice Piercy and her husband, Ralph, of Morenci, and Vickie Poucher and her husband, David, of Mattawan; two sisters, Grace Mulder and her husband, Robert, of Kalamazoo, and Judy Kubicek and her husband, Richard, of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her first and second husbands, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Cremation has taken place. A private burial of cremains will be at the Rivers! ide Cemetery in Kalamazoo on a date to be determined. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Medical Care Facility, 200 Sand Creek Hwy., Adrian, Michigan. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
