I don't have access to the England census records, but would like to find out if this John married a Mary or Maria, and if indeed he is the father of Thomas. Believe it or not, Thomas' grave marker-as old as it (1885)is-barely legible and broken in several places-still reads that he was born in Pocklington. I am so thankful to him for leaving that clue for me!! It still amazes me that he wanted that on his tombstone. He must have wanted to let everyone know. I did a search at familysearch.com and found a John Iveson, b. 1799 in Hawes, his father was a Thomas Iveson! Perhaps he named his son after his father! This is getting interesting! Of course I have nothing to prove that this is connected to my Ivesons, but I would sure like to figure this out! -Elise, MN
