(Sec. 13) North East corner of Macon & Allen Roads Contact: Desc: Fenced, very small sign, maybe 200 graves, old graves, does not appear active, some broken and tilted stones Visited: May 24, 2003 Published: Gravestone Records of Lenawee County, Michigan by Harriet Cole Bowen Vol 3 recorded 1940 Map: Latitude: 420214N Longitude: 0835338W John and Jane Boyce are in ATEN CEMETERY (location above) John Boyce died 16 may 1884 at age 87 – born about 1797 Jane Boyce died 27 Mar 1890 at age 87 - born about 1803 Found this with help from someone else: 1900 Census for Ypsi, Ward 3, District 112, Washtenaw County, MI John Boyce – born (Month starts with an A) 1818 in Ireland Hannah J or I Boyce – born May 1840 in Michigan Married 11 years and Hannah didn’t have any children according to the census (this is not to say that he didn’t have any by a previous marriage) John came to America in 1836 My guess would be that this John is the oldest son of John born in 1797 in Ireland and they all came to America in 1836 as a family. I contacted the sexton at this cemetery. His name is Larry.
