if you order the marriage cert from Lenawee County clerk, you should not need any number to get a copy. You seem to have all the necessary info, date, full names of parties and place. Send the fee to the clerk and sit back and wait. They seem to be quite speedy about replies, and unless there is no civil record you should be looking good in no time at all. The fee to the county clerk is still less than to the State of Michigan, to my understanding, that is. The Lenawee County GENWEB used to have a link that would lead you to addresses and such for the clerk. Not sure where this number requirement came up, unless they have instituted some new rule I have yet to learn about??? <G> Good luck in your research.
