Where was it that your mother passed away? If it was in Lenawee County, Michigan, there may be an obituary or marriage record in the newspaper. They will send you what they find and usually send you a statement of the amount owed. The search itself is $1.00 and each copy they send to you is $.25. When I received my father's family information which 9 newspaper articles the bill was only $3.25. They will search these for you and send them to you. If you want to send the payment with the letter, you are welcome to do so. Be sure to send them as much informaion you as you can - it will cut the search time for them.
