I was reading a copy of the Atchison Daily Globe from Atchison, Kansas, dated 12 Jan 1887, and found the following article. I hope it helps someone. "A Bridge Accident" "Adrian, Mich., Jan. 12 - By reason of the intense cold, causing the iron to contract, the iron passenger bridge over Raisin river, at Blissfield, fell this morning. Two drovers, Wm. Stack and Chas. Quingly with a herd of cattle, were precipitated on the ice, and fatally injured."
