Can anyone explain the deed descriptions for Lenawee County? For instance: Grantee Beach, Susan M. (buyer) Grantor Jarusha A. Harrington (seller) 1865 Lib 72 p386 Section 2 Town 7 S Range 5 E Since Susan Marilla Beach lived in Deerfield, and this was probably during the time when Cyrus Y. Beach, her husband had gone off to war as a substitute. He was almost 38 years old. Are the towns numbered in some way that is easily deciphered? I will send for the film that contains the actual deed, but I am curious about the decription recorded in the index. Dick Rich
