Been doing a bit of snooping for you, and so far, am coming up empty Check of the marriage index for Lenawee County we find no entry for a Frederick Schmidt, there was a Charles Frederick Ernest Schmidt that married in 1868, but his bride was one Caroline Jacobs. Sorry, but so far, coming up empty. Birth records are closely guarded these days, in Michigan they are closed from 100 to 110 years, (this changes so frequently, I am reluctant to state for sure which it is). Birth and death records were required from 1867 on, but reporting can be spotty, and not guaranteed. You could try contacting the county clerk and see if they can help you, you should be able to find contact data on the county clerk via the Lenawee County GENWEB site, snoop around, it used to be posted there on a link.
