The parents are Joseph Philip & Anna Martha Fisher born in Germany. Their children are: Louisa (Louesa), Anna, Henry, Mary, Anna Martha, Maria, Caroline, George and Willie (William). The children were born between 1858-1875. The family immigrated in 1862, but seem to have gone to Ohio first. I think they were in Lenawee County starting in 1864 or 1865. Any information you may have would be helpful. Willie (William R.) Fisher married Dora Elsie Wotring in 1898 in Ogden, Lenawee, Michigan. They had two children that I am aware of: Olin & Mildred, though I am not sure if they stayed in the Lenawee area. I also have that George D. Fisher married an Ethiel V. Hoag in 1895 in Fairfield, Lenawee, Michigan. Their children are: L. Fossa (Fausta), Lydia L., Mary E., Charles R., Manford W. and Oliver B. Ethiel's parents were Adonisan Judson Hoag & Mary R. Brown who were married in 1868 in Rollin, Lenawee, Michigan. Adonisan's children are: Lilla May, Harry W., Welcome, Ernest G. and Byron J. Any information you have on the Hoag families would also be helpful. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hanford, formerly of Tecumseh. The deceased was born in Carenovia, N.Y., Jan. 13th, 1839. She came to Michigan with her parents in 1849 and settled in Manchester, Washtenaw Co., where she lived eight years. She then moved to Prescott, Wis., where in 1859 she was married to Mr. James B. Parkhurst. His health failing they moved to Omaha, Neb. where he died July 1869. She was thus left a widow with three children, one of whom died in infancy. The other two survive her, Miss Grace Parkhurst and Mrs. Edith Lamkins, of Franklin [Twp., Lenawee Co., MI] The same year of Mr. Parkhurst's death his widow came to Tecumseh and has ever since made it her home here until last spring. In October, 1881 she was married to Mr. Abraham Hanford. Last March they removed to Kansas, and settled in the city of Pratt. After a brief illness with typhoid fever, Mrs. Hanford died at her home in Pratt, on Sunday, Oct., 23d [1887] The remains were brought to Tecumseh by her husband and daughter and the funeral services took place from St. Peters Church on Wednesday afternoon following, of which church she and her children were faithful and consistent members. The Masonic Lodge of Tecumseh of which the bereaved husband was a past master attended the services as an escort as a mark of their esteem and sympathy. The services at the church were conducted by her old pastor, Rev. J. Phelps and the body was duly consigned to the earth after the ritual of his church. The deceased had made many friends here and her husband had been for many years one of our most widely known and respected citizens. The community will deeply sympathize with him and the remaining members of the family in their bereavement. I found a couple of dates I wanted already. The spelling of the name does make it difficult. It's also Eayers, Eayres, Airs, Eyr, Ayres, and I suppose there are many more. The New Hampshire books are full of different spellings and the same person can have his name spelled differently even on the same page. Makes for lots of fun.. As far as the spelling of the name I have come across the same dilemenia - sometimes it was spelled Rohsler (with the two dots), Roseler, Raisler and somehow ended up with the way I spell our last name Roesler. These name changes certainly keeps everyone on their toes doesn't it?! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have read a bio of Clifford J. Ayers, another son of Wm. & Inez. I do have to wonder if these two Ayers families were at one point related as that name is spelled every which way. John Henry and Charles' mother Alena is buried in the Old Weston cemetery and their is a memorial stone for their father John William there but he is buried on land that was sold to Pliny Van Vleet by Charles. Henry married in Missouri, moved to Kansas, back to Michigan, back to Kansas and on to Montana where he died in 1912. The Eayrs (Alexander) came to Michigan from New Hampshire in the spring of 1831. I have never found what happened to the son Andrew but I think he took the spelling of Ayers. John Henry and Charles' father was John William and mother was Alena McConnell. Any of this ring a bell?
