Ann and Conrad Burns in their book, Michigan Quakers: Abstracts of Fifteen Meetings of the Society of Friends 1831-1960, (Decatur, MI: Johnson Graphics, 1989), indicate that William died on 22m 10 1846 at Woodstock, Lenawee, MI. They also indicate that he transferred to the Adrian MM on 14d 5m 1840. However, other variables exist. There are a couple of other kinship groups that are part of the picture. Gideon and Susannah (Carr) Lupton lived in Lenawee County as well as their son-in-law and daughter, Joseph and Sarah (Lupton) Binns. The Rollin PM was divided in half on 9d 1m 1840; the northern meeting was held at the home of Gideon Lupton while the southern meeting was held at the home of Elijah Brownell. A good place to look would be Gravestone Records of Lenawee County, Michigan by Harriet Cole Bowen. This is a fairly comprehensive study of cemeteries in Michigan. I located the graves of Gideon and Susannah in part, because of this book. I would really like to share information with each other through email. Thanks! William Carr left Smithfield, Ohio, with some of his family, his children and a brother James who continued as a Quaker in Muscatine Iowa. One son, Thomas Carr, stayed in Ohio, and my family descends from him. He did not remain a Quaker. I have not found family trees on Ancestry that include him nor that have included your families. I found the Michigan names from the censuses and just recently requested the book made from the records in Lenawee County. Does anyone know where William Carr is buried? I search Canadian records and found no marriage for them there or a birth record for either of them. The 1850 census states that William was born in Canada so the person living in Conn. would not be your william. I would say for someone born that far back you will be lucky if you find any documents without knowing where they were born in canada. Since no one is still living that was alive to know them that also creates a problem. Have you visited the court house in Sylvania Ohio to check their records? IS there an obituary for them when they died? these would probably be your only chance to find anything. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Nancy Schave, Hi! What McConnells do you have info on? I have an Anna Fort who was first married to a Green and later married Luther Mcconnell on 17 Oct 1866. She had 4 children: Adalbert Green, Carrie Green, Ellen May McConnell and Edith A. McConnell. Do any of these sound familiar? Luther McConnell was the brother of my gr. gr. grandfather Marcus. I have pictures of some of these folks. Thanks, Carol **************Get a jump start on your taxes. Find a tax professional in your neighborhood today.
