    3. Hey, thanks; I received 2 angry letters this AM and I know the problem is with Rootsweb; I have not been able to get into the administrative functions for the Board for most of last week which happens periodically; just have to wait until they get their s**t together...guess I'll go see my kid in Ft Wayne today and get out of Dodge... 3. IF the responses are NOT posted at the web site, I believe they will NOT come to the list. Many responders may go find the contact data for the original poster and respond directly to them privately via email and not post on the web site board. But, as Mary points out, if the response IS posted to the web site, you should receive it as a member of the mail list. Hope I did not muddy the waters here. 3. Hi, Sandy, I'm not sure what you're referring to, but all queries and all responses to queries on the Lenawee Co Rootsweb Message Board are "gatewayed" to the Lenawee Co Mailing List. So you should be getting all of them. If the problem continues, please let me know and I will report it to Rootsweb and thank you for letting me know. 3. Well I'll be! :) I did notice recently a small one on the west side of Palmyra that I'd never seen before. Think it's on the corner of Ogden Hwy & 223 but it's a neatly kept little one. I'll have to keep an eye out the next time we head to Blissfield from Adrian. Thanks for letting me know as we drive that way quite often with my mother! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandy Meeks" <susiem@cass.net> To: <milenawe@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 27, 2009 8:29 PM Subject: Re: [MILENAWE] McConnell & Eayrs families > Sheila: The cemetery that I'm referring to is not the one currently in > use > that you mention. 3. Sheila: The cemetery that I'm referring to is not the one currently in use that you mention. It is east of the village and on the south side of US223. It is in middle of a cow pasture, but has trees in it. Nearly all stones are now kicked over, and graves of some 20 - 25 people are desecrated. Very sad. Lenawee Historical Museum has one typewritten page on it done back in 1032 ! Thanks, though, for your input. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: motherjudy Surnames: GRISWOLD, CUDABACK, CUDDABACK, SIEBOLD Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.lenawee/56.1108.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Socrates GRISWOLD, b. FEB 9 1809, VT, was still on the 1850 CENSUS in Wilson, Niagara Co., NY. His wife, as you knew, was Lydia CUDABACK or CUDDABACK, b. JUL 4 1811. Yes, they did go to Lenawee Co., MI where he died in Adrian, Lenawee Co., MI in FEB 1865. Their children were Archibald, Eber, Sylvia, Cudaback, George, Mary, William, and Cudaback. The CUDABACK relatives had been from Sussex Co., NJ before coming to Wilson, Niagara Co., NY. Lydia's father was John CUDDEBACK and her mother was Roxanna Caldwell SIEBOLD, who died in Sussex Co., NJ. So Lydia's father went to Wilson after his wife's death, it looks like. There is info online about these families for more details. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: AnneHalford Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.lenawee/5050.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: "History and genealogy of Samuel Clark, Sr." by Edgar W Clark, publ. 1892 (online at http://books.google.com) lists the children of Noah Clark, complete with birth dates, spouses, etc. He reports Noah Clark and Mary "Polly" Harkness were married in 1816. That is about 6 years after Charles was born. In 1820 census (New York, Genesee, Gains, pg 4) Noah and Mary have 2 little daughters, Parthenia & Elizabeth, no sons. I didn't find a census showing a Noah Clark with a son Charles age. However Noah's father Jehiel Clark does have 2 unidentified boys under 10 in the 1810 census. The above ref. says Jehiel's wife, Noah's mother, died ca. 1813. I speculated that Charles might be Noah's baby brother, raised by another family after his mother died, or possibly a nephew. There definitely seems to be a family tie. Anne (Fender)Halford > Earl Fender > Edith (Downing) Fender > Mary (Carpenter)Downing > Mary (Clark) Carpenter > Samuel Clark Jr. (Jehiel's brother) > Gen. Samuel Clark Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He died in Cadillac, but his death certificate says he was buried in Adrian. He was widowed and living with someone at time of death so he probably was returned to Adrian to be buried with wife. Just a guess. He died May of 1915. What are likely cemeteries to look for? I will also be trying to obtain his obit which might reveal something if I'm lucky. Thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board.

I do know that Elon and Nancy Ella Smith Boyce's marriage license bears the signature of one William T. Hoag as a witness to their marriage. Haven't established a relationship between the Joseph Smith family and the family of Israel K. Smith (1833-1918). I'd check the Israel K. Smith at Rootsweb for a connection.
