    1. [MILENAWE] Charles H. Patterson, Rosa Patterson, Ann Nettie Patterson
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: JackieSandberg Surnames: Patterson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.lenawee/5075/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have recently aquired a photo album with a photo of Charles H. Patterson - next to this photo there is one titled Aunt Rosa. The inside front cover says: Ann Nettie Patterson Bought - May 2..1865. Fairfield, Lenawee Co, Michingan. Nettie was my GGrandfather's first wife. I am looking for her family and this photo album, I beleive may hold the connection. Does anyone have any info on this family? I did find a Charles Patterson married to a Rosa in the 1880 census. This would probably be Nettie's aunt and Uncle, however she was born about 1846, so charles could possibly be a brother. Ann Nellie Patterson was born in Michigan. Does anyone have anthing on this family. Happy to share info and photos with anyone connected. Thanks. He was born in Ireland, came to New Jersey, and then to Michigan. They lived in or near Raisin township. Their children were John, Samuel, Hugh, and Matilda. I don't know if this family is related to me or not. What got me curious was that I saw John Jrs. death registration, that said his Mother was Jane Lowry.I had happened on it while looking for my relative Joseph Heaney who died in Sault Ste. Marie. His parents were John Heaney and Ellen Lowry, who immigrated to Ontario. I am trying to find out if John Heaney and Jane Lowry also came from County Cavan in Ireland. Since I posted the query, I ran into someone who actually attended the school, so found out where it was. It's on the southwest corner of Blissfield Hwy. and Forche Rd. It is still standing, but has been converted to living quarters. As I drove past it, it looks like it may be a garage; bell tower appears to remain. 1. [MILENAWE] Hamptons in Lenawee Co
    2. Teeter Mary
    3. From a non-member, Pat Kinzie; please email her directly if you have any information for her. <pkkinzie@pacbell.net> I have some information on James Hampton, b. 1776 New York, d. 27 Oct 1858 Resided first in Lenawee County 1850 United States Federal Census RecordMichigan > Lenawee > Tecumseh > Page 62, for James Hampton, age. 74, farmer, born in NY Son, James B. Hampton b. 1811 Genoa, Cayuga, New York, US. Both held the below mentioned property in Lenawee County in 1827. Resided at least until 1870 in Franklin, Lenawee. James B. children Elbert (1861 - 1934), Warren J. (b. 1846), Laverne (b. 1848), and Charles (b. 1842) were all born on the Franklin Farm in Lenawee County. Laverne was still living there in 1920. My great grandfather Elbert Hampton (above) left for Oregon/CA around 1880 and settled on Mt. Lassen, CA in Paynes Creek, Tehama County, CA. He homesteaded this area and owned property in Mineral, CA where he ran the post office & general store. My grandfather Olen, and my father, Warren Jack were born and raised on this homestead. If you come across any records relating to the Hampton family in Lenawee, I would appreciate knowing. They appear on census records but there are many other Hamptons also and I am not sure how we are related. Below are some land records on the Hampton in Lenawee. 1. [MILENAWE] CORRINGTON / CORENTON of Reading, Hillsdale Co, Raisin, Lenawee Co, & Coldwater / Quincy, Branch Co. MI
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: CStanley84 Surnames: Corrington / Corenton Thomas Clare / Clair Wiser Philo Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.lenawee/5072/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have found two references to Joseph Corrington of NY, who's child or children moved to Michigan. It is very likely that the Jas Corrington of Reading, Hillsdale, MI, in the 1860 census(married to Mrs. Ellany THOMAS) was actually Jos or Joshua Corrington b. 1805 NY. I found Mrs. Ellana Thomas Corrington's death record in Shelby, Newaygo, MI, 1886, where she had been living with her son, Newell Thomas. In that death record transcription her surname was spelled CORENTON. I do not know where Ellana was buried. Anna (Corrington) Wiser Philo (b. 1851 MI) died 1906 in Coldwater, Branch, MI and was buried at Quincy Cemetery. The death record listed her father as Joseph Corrington, mother unknown. Informant was Martha Clare [Clair] who was the daughter of Mrs. Elana Thomas Corrington and Chauncey Thomas. The 1850 and 1860 census for Raisin, Lenawee, MI, has a John Corrington / Corenton (b. 1830 NY). He is CORRINTON in 1850 and CORENTON in 1860. In the 1860 census he is living with his wife(?) Pheobe Corenton and a young girl, Anna Corenton, b. 1851 MI, who would seem to be his daughter, but was probably a younger sister, based on the information above. John Corrington died at Blue Lake, Muskegon, MI in 1869, father listed as Joseph Corrington and mother was Rebecca. This surname has been a tough one to follow in MI and NY. Any information to share on this family is very welcome! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
