    3. A check of the work, Gravestones of Lenawee County, done by Adrian DAR and Harriet Bowen in the 1930 to 40 era finds: Jesse Russell, born May 24, 1797 died April 3, 1885 Catherine, wife of Jesse, born October 11, 1881 (obvious error here) died. May 30, 1895. Infant Children of J & C: Manerva & Esther All buried in Cambridge as you indicate. There may be additional information the headstones, but usually Harriet did record maiden names found. A trip to the cemetery may turn up more info, but it is snow covered at this time and a bit chilly out there! >G>G>G>G> I did not find Catherine's name in the Death INdex for vital records of Lenawee, I looked in deate of death column as well as names. An obit was found in the Wed. June 5, 1895 issue of the Michigan Messenger: Mrs. Catherine Russell, a venerable lady living at the home of her son, Jacob Russell, at Onsted, was found dead in bed Friday. She had been an invalid for several years. Mrs. Russell was born October 11, 1800, being in her 95th year. She was the mother of Rev. John Russell, the well known prohibitionist. Five children survive her, Rev. John and Rev. Jesse, Jacob, Isaac, residing in Alma and Mrs. Silas Aldrich, of Cambridge. (This transcription was found in the work: Marriages, Births, Deaths and Miscellaneous News Items Transcribed from the Michigan Messenger, Vol 11, 1894 - 1895, Housed at Adrian Public Library, Presented by Lenawee County Family Researchers, a Genealogical Society, 2003 If you have not already done so, you might want to search sideways, see what you can find on her children's death notices/records/obits. They might mention her maiden name. Good luck in your future research, On 1 Dec 2005 17:49:41 -0700, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: RUSSELL and ONSTED > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mFB.2ACE/2644 > > Message Board Post: > > Is there anyone available who can look up the graves of Jesse and > Catherine Russell, both buried at Cambridge Junction, Lenawee co.? Sadly he had past in 1976. Elizabeth died in 1999. She never talked about her family. I don't know where to look. Patricia

    3. That census has only age groups. Does not list ladies by name, unless they happen to be a head of household. There is a John Ousterhout in Ridgeway, 2 males 10 to 21. 1 male 45 to 75. 1 female 45 to 75 hope that helps.
