She was born September 8, in 1931, in Elgin, Nebraska, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Reuter. The family moved to Hudson in 1937. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and attended Sacred Heart School until 8th grade and then graduated from Hudson High School in 1949. She attended Michigan State University for two years. In 1951, she married Duane Webster. After fifteen wonderful years together, she was widowed at age 34 when Duane passed away in 1966. Over the next 18 years she continued to live in Hudson, raising her eight children. In 1983, she married Robert Miller. They lived in Howard City, Three Rivers and Kalamazoo, Michigan. Together they enjoyed 19 years of travel and sharing their lives with their combined 10 children and many grandchildren. Robert preceded her in death in 2002. Mary Ann was an inspiration to many with her resilience a! nd her strong faith. She continued to enjoy sharing in the lives of her children and grandchildren throughout her life. Many times she could be found sewing for them at her sewing machine, cheering them on from the bleachers, fishing with them in a pond, or planting with them in a garden. She will always be fondly remembered for her great love and enduring spirit. She is survived by her eight children, Tom Webster of Taos, New Mexico, Mike (Susan) Webster of Crystal Falls, Michigan and Green Valley, Arizona, Barb (B.J.) Shell of Kalamazoo, Pat Curtis of Kalamazoo, Judy (Randy) Braun of Newburgh, Indiana, Anne (Jerry) Smith of Hudson, Michigan, Amy (Michael "Ashley") Pandel of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Duana Webster, and Jenifer Filipowicz of Kalamazoo; two step-children, Craig (Diane) Miller of Hilliard, Ohio, and Amy (Rich) Rock of Galloway, Ohio; twenty-three grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; and two sisters, Bette Remington of Omaha, Nebraska, and JoEllen Berglund! of Tacoma Washington; along with many other relatives and friends. Ma ss of Christian Burial for Mary Ann (Webster) Miller will be Friday, July 7, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Hudson with Fr. Mike Hazard and Fr. Richard Eberle as Celebrants. Mary, there are marriages BEFORE 1867. Period, no doubt, absolutely! There is a copy of the first marriage book at the Library of Michigan on microfilm. NOT all marriages were recorded, which may be the case with your 1858 marriage. 1841, I believe I heard something about a lot of people dying in a short time frame, 1841 might be it. Something about one winter, almost every family had a death due to illness. Elijah Brown marriage, unless you can find a bible record that is before our marriage records start, they start in 1852 right after the courthouse burned down. Sorry, not a lot of help, but maybe an explanation. you could try contacting the Lenawee County Historical Society, they have many of the more recent obits in a file system there, they should be able to photo copy and mail to you for a small fee. or, as suggested elsewhere contact the Adrian Public Library.
