I was wondering if you had the info to complete my tree. Do you have the names and/or dates of the rest of Silvester Tiffany's (b:1759)children? Up until recently, my family records didn't show a second wife. I only had three children, George Augustus, Elizabeth "Betsy", and Silvester, all coming from Frances Davis Hopkins. It turns out I was missing a wife and 5 children. I've added a marriage to Elizabeth Ralston, and one son, Hon. Alexander Ralston Tiffany. I have read that he had 5 children with his second wife. Who are the other four? Do you have the other 4? Spouses? dates? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mFB.2ACE/2594.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Kathy, Amazing what one can find via Google! I'd been trying to locate a Caroline "Appleton"--name from a will in Canada--to no avail, so queried for James Harrington and Michigan and found this message. I am not related but am doing research on the birth family of Mary Harrington, which is spelled Herrington in most of the records in Canada. Her maiden name was not HOUSE as I've seen on World Tree in Ancestry.com. It was HAWS. Obviously the Haws ancestors are playing with me and directing me to you for a reason. Yesterday I transcribed the will of John Hause (spelling changed later) for a distant cousin in Canada and John named "Caroline Appleton, whose maiden name was Herrington" in his will. So I'd been trying to find an Appleton family in Michigan in census records, to no avail, which I now know why. John also named Caroline's brothers John T. and James. John Hause was the younger brother of Mary Herrington and he died in Nov 1887 in Ontario. His sisters all died young and he named their children in his will, although he did not name the sisters. But I had that info from my own research. Caroline actually had 4 brothers, and since only 2 were named in the will, I was guessing that the other two had died, so from the obit you posted it appears that was a correct assumption. And I'd wondered about Mary since I see that James Harrington remarried by the 1870 census. If you email me off-board I can give you what info I have on the HAWS family in Canada. 3. I checked the Lenawee County Family Researchers most recent recordings of the cemeteries of Medina Township and find NO burials under the surname of Suttie I also checked on this web site and found no entries for that surname: http://www.mdch.state.mi.us/pha/osr/gendisx/search.htm I even tried Suttle, in case the "i" was read like an "l" and still came up empty. Did any of his children move west and maybe he went with them?? also checked the book on Seneca township and also came up empty. Many times, if they were poor and buried without a headstone, we have little ways of knowing where they are buried. Sure not much help. sorry.
