I've "rescued" three old photographs including one which is specifically identified as that of Bernice MCELVAIN which was taken at the Gillett Studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bernice is just an infant at the time the photograph was taken, likely sometime in the 1890's. The second photograph is of an unidentified woman, taken at the M. P. Thiele Studio in Grand Rapids, MI. It was most likely taken in the 1880's with the women appearing to be in her teens or 20's at the time. The third photograph is also of an unidentified woman, taken at the Wykes Studio in Grand Rapids, MI, it appears to also have been taken in the 1880's with the woman in the photograph appearing to be in her 50's or 60's at the time it was taken. MCELVAIN, dau, age 1, born Apr 1899, born MI 1910 census of Grand Rapids, MI: Frank MCELVAIN, age 46, 2nd marriage 14 years, born MI, parents born MI, a Locomotive Engineer Ella M. MCELVAIN, wife, age 36, 1st marriage 14 years, 3 children/1 living, born MI, paernts born NY, a Housewife Bernice L. MCELVAIN, dau, age 11, born MI 1920 census of Grand Rapids, MI: Frank MCELVAIN, age 56, born MI, parents born NY/MI, a Railroad Watchman Ella M. MCELVAIN, wife, age 46, born MI, parents born NY Bernice L. MCELVAIN, dau, age 20, born MI, a Public School Teacher I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that these three wonderful old photographs can be returned to the care of family.
