I have been trying to place John Sullivan's movements for the years between his birth and settling in Parnell with Johanna. I had heard something about him working on the Erie Canal--which didnt make sense chronologically--but I will research the Wabash and Erie Canal in more detail. The knowledge that he was in Ohio gives me anew lead, as well as the fact that he sailed form Cork, and arrived in Quebec (not Halifax as I was led to believe.
