I have no direct connection but my g-grandfather, Daniel Cary Sullivan, was born in Bantry about 1844 and eventually emigrated to Orleans County NY. Sullivan/ O'Sullivan is an extremely common name in that western coast of County Cork. Reference: St. Patrick's R. C. Parish, Parnell, Michigan; 1844-1994 published in 1996 Page 131 "John Sullivan (1812-1894)was a native of Bantry, County Cork, Ireland. He left Ireland in 1836, and by 1843 he worked his way to Section 31 of Grattan Township. He married Johanna SCANLON (1830-1880), {Page 130} a daughter of Morris and Mary {FERRIS} Scanlon, and they raised seven children: Daniel, Bridget, John, James, Patrick, Joseph, Ellen, and Michael Francis. The Sullivans at one time owned all the land where St. Patrick's church, rectory, and school now are located."
