My Gr. Grandfather, George SULLIVAN, was born Mar. 1848, Ireland,died 03 May 1896, Grand Rapids, Kent Co. MI., bur. St. Andrew's Cemetery, Grand Rapids. His wife, Catherine BURKE, b. Jan. 1855, Ireland, d. 03 Mar. 1913, bur. St. Andrew's Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Their 6 children,James Joseph, Patrick Henry, Mary Ann, Catherine Johanna, George Francis, & Alexander Emmett, were all born in Grand Rapids. For 30 years I have been trying to find the Irish County of the birth of George SULLIVAN & Catherine Burke. George Sullivan had a sister, Elizabeth "Bessie" SULLIVAN who married John FERGUSON in Grand Rapids. Elizabeth "Bessie" SULLIVAN b. Aug. 1862, Ireland, died 17 Oct. 1908, Grand Rapids, bur. St. Andrew's Cemetery, Grand Rapids. "Bessie's" Certificate of Death states her father's name as John SULLIVAN b. Ireland, mother's maiden name "unknown". I am pursuing every avenue of research in trying to determine the Irish County from whence these SULLIVAN'S originated.
