Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Richelle "Rikki"; stepchildren, April (Shauna) Favors, Richelle (Jobe) Braswell; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Gavin, and Giannah; his parents, Michael and Lynn Steil; brother, Kirby (Missy) Steil; grandparents, Vurlah and Charles Gwilliams; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael worked for Steil Inc., Guilford of Maine, in Grand Rapids, for ten years as a machine operator and for Centenial Country Club. He loved music and enjoyed going to concerts. He played the saxophone and belonged to West Michigan Blues Society with his wife, Rikki. In his youth, he received music scholarships to fine arts camps and Western Michigan University summer programs. He also loved participating in sports such as fishing, downhill skiing, darts, and especially enjoyed golfing and watching the Lions with his friends. Michael is devoted to caring for his granddaughter, Gabrielle (she was t! he pride and joy of his life). He was always upbeat, outgoing, giving, and will be remembered as one who would go to great lengths to step up to help others in need. A funeral service will be held Friday, 1 PM at the funeral home. His family will receive visitors Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd. NW. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Spectrum Health Hospice.
