Surnames: Schlich, Emert, Dunbrook, Blaszak, McBarnes, Vielkind Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kFB.2ACE/4093 Message Board Post: Dec. 27, 1921 The Grand Rapids Press Mrs. Schlich, Old Resident, Passes Pioneer Resident Had Lived In Grand Rapids 65 Years Mrs. Bertha Schlich, widow of John Schlich and one of the pioneers of Grand Rapids, died Saturday morning at her home, 810 Bowery St. Mrs. Schlich was born in Friedland, Austria, but in 1856 came to the United States. She had lived in this city for 65 years and for a long period was a member of the Campau household, pioneer founders of the city. Two sons, Frank and Joseph Schlich; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Emert of Blendon, Mrs. Bertha Dunbroof, Mrs. Matilda Blaszak and Mrs. Anna McBarnes, all of Grand Rapids, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Vielkind also of the city, survive. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church Tuesday morning and burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. If anyone has anything on this family, please contact me at giki8336@aol.com Thank You, Vicki
