Ransom Sawyer migrated to Grandville, Michigan about 1836. He probably had three wives--_____, Mary and Mary Leocadia Trompe. He had the following children: Chancey, John, Joseph B, Mary Sawyer Moore, Lucy Sawyer Burton, and Betsey Sawyer Brown.
