It was origionally spelled Meaux but was changed along the way to sound more American. I was looking through my genealogy sheet and there was an Anna Moe. Her father was Elam Moe and she would have been a sister of Irving Moe, my GG grandfather. I will look it over more and see if there are any names that are the same. I am thinking that if there is a connection that maybe Elam's brother might be where we have a common link. What was Ann Moe's fathers name if you know it? Elam parents were John Moe and his wife was Mary Tyler. Their children were John Jr., Alvin, Abraham, Elam, Samuel, Maria, and Harriett. They moved to Michigan around 1826/27 and settled in the Ann Arbor area. From there their children branched out in the southern lower Michigan area. Hope this helps some. Let me know if you see a connection here. Thanks, Sherry
