I would like to find out who it actually belonged to & have a couple clues to work with. The Owners first name HATTIE. Her cousin's name was IRMA COWAN from Grattan, MI. Irma's parents were William & Elizabeth (nee Allen)and she married a JOHN MCKENDRY. (this info per Family Search 1880 census) There is a teacher's autograph MARY BELLE NUGENT - or perhaps it is MAY BELLE. Throughout the book is SUMMER NORMAL (the school) Does anyone know of the COWAN Family & perhaps a family line that might include Hattie? Any Help is greatly appreciated!
