At one time, it was like a township, but has been incorporated as a city since 1959, I believe. It is a suburb of Grand Rapids, being to the south and southwest of Grand Rapids. I live about 1/4 mile from the boundry of GR and Wyoming. Both are a part of Kent County. I dont think I can help you with your relative search, unless perhaps you are stumped, and maybe I can do a visit to the library for you. I do have Chapmans in my line, which is why I found this message. My relatives seem to have come from England to MA, to Ohio. I don't have my notes handy, but most of my Chapman relatives (old ones) are buried in or near Ashtabula and Mechanicsburg OH.
