Sheldon's sister Stella Sheldon (1854 - 1941) married John Whitney Sickels (yes, spelled with "...els = 1850 - 1921) John Whitney Sickels is the son of J. Durfee Sickels and Sarah Jane Cobb, both interred in the Elsie Village Cemetery, Elsie, Clinton County, Michigan John W. and Stella are both interred at Oakwood Cemetery, Oneida Twp., Eaton County, MI. To my knowledge, they had the following children: I can tell that the dust did not settle under the feet of this family! SICKELS Fred, 1874 - 1893 (Oakwood Cemetery, Oneida Twp., Eaton County, MI) Claude, 1876 - ? (Below) Earl, 1878 - 1900 (Oakwood Cemetery, Oneida Twp., Eaton County, MI) Alice, 1881 - ? - married Arthur Pratt on Oct 15, 1902, also found them in 1910 US Census in Battle Creek, Ward 5, Calhoun County. Janet - about 1884 - ? - only reference to her as a child was that she is listed in the 1930 US Census in Claude's household as "sister" Janet Eberhart. Have found no other information (have searched Dibean Marriage Index already, for both "Sickels" and "Sickles"). Claude, with most children (except Gayle) and "Janet Eberhart, sister" are living in Walker, Kent County, Michigan in 1930. Walker is a suburb of north-east Grand Rapids. I also find them there in the 1920 US Census, (Claude married Daisy Ferdich, with children): Claude, age 44 Daisy, age 43 Gayle E., age 19 Helen A., age 11 Margaret R., age 9 Dorothea C., age 7 Claude Hughes (Jr.), age 5 In the Social Security Death Index, I find: Claude H. Sickels b. 25 Jul 1914 d. 21 Oct. 1994 (This would be Claude, Jr.), last residence, Jenison, Ottawa County, Michigan (south eastern part of Grand Rapids). I'm trying to... ...find information about the marriages of Gayle, Helen, Margaret, and Dorothea. It is possible that some of these people may still be living, so if the information is private, I understand. ...locate information on Janet, and to find out if she is a sister or some other relationship, and her b./d. dates. ...determine whether Alice and Arthur Pratt had any children and if so, what b/d dates, etc., understanding that some of these people may still be living. ...find out if there are any more children or grandchildren of my g-grandfather's sister, Stella (Sheldon) Sickels).
