Mar. 28, 1985, Pg. F3, Col. 6, Obit. 2 SCHMIDT - Rudolph J. (Rudy) SCHMIDT, aged 86, formerly of Alpine Ave., passed away Wednesday afternoon in Butterworth Hospital. Mr. SCHMIDT owned and operated Rudy's Market. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Plagen #3104, a 67 year life member of the Knights of Columbus and honorary life member of the 4th Degree. He was preceded in death by Irene [BARNES] SCHMIDT and Theresa MOHAN. Mr. SCHMIDT is survived by two sons, James SCHMIDT and Bernard SCHMIDT both of Grand Rapids, three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) MEYER of Spring Lake, Mrs. Jack (Shirley) SIKORS of Wills Point, TX, and Mrs. Peggy KEENAN of Grand Rapids; 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Stella SCHMIDT of Grand Rapids; one step-son C. David MOHAN of Grand Rapids; five step-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Louise ESCH of Grand Rapids. Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday 10 am in St. Mary's Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Mr. SCHMIDT repos! es at the Alt Mortuary where relatives and friends will recite the Rosary Friday 7:30 pm. Friends may meet the family at the mortuary Thursday 7 to 9 pm, Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Memorial contributions to the Knights of Columbus Charities will be appreciated by the family.
