Martjen Wiebes Feenstra was born 15 Apr 1825 in Oudemirdum - Gaasterland, Friesland to Wiebe Douwes Feenstra and Grietje Robijns de Jong. She married Gerrit Jannes van Wijk on 10 Jun 1849 in Lemsterland, Friesland. They had several children and emigrated between 1862 and 1870, since they appear in the 1870 Census in Grand Rapids (Gerit, Maggie, Mary, Maggie, William van Wijks; plus Jacob Wierde -- Jacob was Mary's new husband).
