He was born March 25, 1866, in The Netherlands. He moved to Fremont at the age of 16 and located on a farm south of Fremont. He retired from active farming 25 years ago. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alice DeKulper and Mrs. Henry Meeuwenberg of Fremont. Funeral Wednesday at 2 at First Christian Reformed Church. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
