It tells about John Addis who lived in a place called White Swan. John Addis had a mill there and married Stephen Tower's daughter Sarah. From there I am lost I have a feeling this is an uncle of my g,g,g, grandfather Jimmy Toler Addis. Or maybe they have gotten the two names mixed up and Tower and Toler are the same. Who knows? There is a Clara Addis and a Frank Addis shown in some really vague pictures as children who attended the White Swan School in 1870.
Hi! There is a White Swan Cemetery in Oakfield Twp., Kent County. You might want to check our Kent County GenWeb site - http://www.rootsweb.com/~mikent - then "Cemeteries", "Oakfield Twp." "White Swan Cemetery". There is a John Addis buried there in 1872. Nothing on a Sarah but there are also a number of Tower/Towers buried there. The Tower family goes way back in Kent County history in that area.
