I am so grateful to everyone on these message boards. It's been a God send to breaking down brick walls! I have from a family book, Caleb Olin and Belinda Daniels are the parents of John Coleman Olin, Sr. While in New York, he married Rosanna Whitehead. They had Frank, Ida and John. There is some confusion surrounding John. There may have been a child named John born to John and Rosanna who died as an infant and then there is a time span of more than 10 years before John, Jr. was born. The family historian thought that John may actually have been Ida's child, born out of wedlock. Unless I find documentation somewhere, there is no way to prove or disprove that. But now I can at least try to find Ida's family. I also believe you are correct with the Nolan=Olin. Who did Abby marry? Are you related to this family or just looking for a mystery to dig on? I'm so grateful for the information you found. There is a huge Olin family out there that would love to hear from you if Ida and Addie are part of your family. Abbie Irene Myers (Eba Arena Myers) is the daughter if Ida Olin and George Myers according to her birth record. 2. Then Abbie Myers is living with Andrew Myers and Ida Myers in the 1880 census. Who I think is your Ida divorced. 3. A year later Ida Myers marries Andrew Myers that she was living with in 1880. 4. He dies in 1888. 5. Then, in 1890 Ida M. Nolan Myers marries Clement Bliss. I think that is her with Nolan as a mistake for Olin. It says she was married twice before...that would work for her maiden name as Olin (Nolan) and married name as Myers becuase it APPEARS that she married two Myers men, George then Andrew. 6. I also think this might be right because Abbie Myers' marriage record of 1901 is witnessed by Mrs. Clement Bliss....probably her mother who married Clement Bliss in 1890. I couldn't find a death record for Ida Bliss, but it would be after 1910 when she was last seen in the census for Eaton County. What were John and Ida's parents' names? Or do you not have anything that has ever told you? Do you think that makes sense? I might be rambling, so let me know if you want me to explain more what I mean...or want any of the papers I found...send me your email. Her brother John is my Great Grandfather. The death certificate I have is for the Ida Myers in Schoolcraft. That was how I determined it wasn't the George and Ida I was looking for. Let me know what you think. There certainly are a log of George Myer and Ida combos! The 1870 census makes sense for George and Ida, but it says they were married the past September...rather than October. I think the George and Ida Myers in 1880 Schoolcraft are George Myers and Ida Shannon. I found a marriage record for the two. They were married December 26, 1871 in Schoolcraft. I am not sure though because there is a Nina Bessey listed as sister-in-law age 15. So it seems like Ida's maiden name should be Bessey, unless Nina was already married....?? Ida M. Olin married Geroge Myers October 20, 1869 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan. He is 30, resident of Algoma, born ?? County, Michigan. She is 16, resident of Solon, born Palermo, New York. Witnesses were John and Rosina Olin. An Eba Arena Myers is listed as born March 20, 1872 in Algoma, Kent County, MI. Her parents are listed as George and Ida Myers both born New York. Abbie Irene Myers is listed as marrying Fred Leonard Winters. She is 29, born about 1872, a resident of Charlotte, Michigan parents George Myers and Ida Olin. They were married March 21, 1901 in Charlotte. Witnsses Mrs. Clement Bliss and Mrs. George Moll. The 1880 census for Kent County, Michigan has an Andrew Myers age 46, peddlar, born New York as head of household for Ida Myers age 27 (29? age hard to read) listed as niece born New York, Alta Myers 10 listed as niece born Michigan, and Abbie Myers age 9 listed as niece born Michigan. Then there is a marriage record for Octber 13, 1881 of an Andrew J. Myers age 48, resident of Grand Rapids, born Erie County, New York to Ida M. Myers age 28, resident of Grand Rapids, born Oswego, New York (which is where Palmero is). Andrew is listed as a peddlar as is the Andrew Myers in 1880 where Ida is listed as "niece"...hmmm.... An Andrew J. Myers died on October 1, 1888 age 55 years 2 months 5 days, resident of Charlotte. An Ida M. Nolan Myers marries Clement Bliss on March 18, 1890 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is 36, resident of Charlotte, a dressmaker, born Michigan. He is 46, resident of Charlotte, carpenter, born Michigan. Both have been married twice before. 1900 Census for Eaton County, Michigan has Clement Bliss age 55 born Jan (June) 1845 in Michigan, with wife Ida M. born May 1853 in New York and Abbie Meyers age 27 born February 1873 in Michigan. It says Clement and Ida have been married for ten years. It says Ida has had 2 children with 2 still living. 1910 Census Clement Bliss age 66 (?) born Michigan and Ida Bliss age 56 born New York. Married for 20 years. Ida has had 2 children with 1 still living. I didn't see them in 1920. I didn't find anything for George. I can send you the links to what I found if you want to give me your email address. I know not all the dates and locations match up perfectly, but let me know what you think. MY GRT  GRANDFATHER"S WERE: THADEUS GODFREY, GEORGE W. GODFREY, ANDREW (AJ) GODFREY, JACOB C. GODFREY, TO NAME A FEW. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME OF YOUR INFORMATION ON THE ELISHA GODFREY FAMILY AND HIS DESCENDANTS. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANYTHING. I WAS JUST GOING THROUGH SOME FILES AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, BUT THERE WERE CHILDREN ADDED ON THAT SHOULDN'T BE. IF YOU DON'T MIND WILL YOU HELP ME GET THE RIGHT INFORMATION? ESPECIALLY ON NEWCOMB & SMITH GODFREY. THANK YOU DONNA GODFREY Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
