Author: jek5311 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.kent/8627.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you so much for your responses. I would be interested to hear how you found so many John or Anna records in Kent Co. in 1893. I have tried many times and find no one in Kent in 1893. I am well aware this is a pilot site and everything is not complete, although my understanding (until this gap) was that Michigan deaths are done. I am also well aware that all deaths were not reported. However, there appear to be NO deaths n Kent in 1893, a highly unlikely situation. Let me restate my question: Does anyone KNOW if the Kent County deaths for 1893 are missing because a)they have not been scanned, b)if they were not filmed, or c)if that year is missing from the original registers? Now I can partially answer my own question, I kept looking for information and have found from the FHL catalog that there are no Kent County deaths for 1893 on the original microfilm. So my next step is to try to find out if there are any that exist as originals. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This is a pilot site, though, and I understand that not all the records have been scanned yet. Also in 1893 there simply may not have been a record.Deaths were supposed to be recorded, but not all were and some have just gone missing for one reason or another. Try again in a month or so.
