The easiest way for you to find out would be to contact the funeral home for the cemetery they are buried in. The name Tuinstra means "from the garden". The Dutch did not have last names (other than patronyms - Jansen, etc.) until Napoleon required them to take them in 1803. Many Dutch in Friesland loved flowers, or worked in nurseries or on flower farms, so they took the surname "Tuinstra". For this reason, all Tuinstras are not related. Hope this is helpful! Barbara De Zeeuw Brinks and others interested in Zeeland, Netherlands genealogy: I found the information for the Zeeland genealogy list: Post message: Zeeland-genealogy@yahoogroups.com Subscribe: Zeeland-genealogy-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Unsubscribe: Zeeland-genealogy-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com List owner: Zeeland-genealogy-owner@yahoogroups.com For more information: http://www.medewerker.hro.nl/SmiWT/zemail.htm Of course, you must subscribe before you can post. It is free. When you subscribe, stay on the line. Very soon an e-mail will come asking you to confirm that you wish to subscribe. And that is all--confirm and then post. Naturally most of the list is in Dutch; occasionally some German, French but English is also understood so just put your request out there. So long as you always remember to be patient, polite and thankful of help, list members will respond to you in kind. :-) Here is the information about ISIS: The Zeeuws Archief (ZA) can be found at <www.zeeuwsarchief.nl>, with a link to ISIS. This home page of the ZA has a summary in English: you will find a link in small letters, right under: <www.zeeuwsarchief.nl/summary.htm>. There are also links to many pages with interesting Zeeuwse subjects, however, these pages are only in Dutch. As a beginning of ISIS, of the "Burgerlijke Stand" only the certificates of marriage (1811-1922) have been added, but I suppose the deceases will follow soon. Also the births are being brought into the computer, everything by volunteers. And indexes to several archives are already available: population 1811, criminal records, emigration from Zeeland 1839-1900, several sources about Middelburg. You can find if someone is mentioned in these sources: for the full records you will have to go to Middelburg. Except for the Burgerlijke Stand: here you will find all data from the certificates. [Information on ISIS above was quoted from J. F. Stoutjesdijk.] I hope this will be of some help. Jean (Wieland) Bails

The Antrim Bros I am refering to were in business in Grand Rapids, MI, in 1860-1880. I am now sure it was my branch of the family. There were 4 brothers there at that time with their father they living in Grand Rapids. They were father George Antrim (born in Conn 1794) married to Sally Jeffords (born 1797 in VT), their sons George Dewitt Clinton Antrim (born in Canada 1825), Edward Antrim b.1830 NY, Charles Mortimer Antrim b. 1835 NY and Albert Antrim b. 1833 NY(My gg Grandfather) married to Abigail Keyes. They also had another brother William Antrim b. 1821 but died 1862. I have not concluded who was the parents of George Antrim. If you have any information on Antrim's in Conn in 1790-1800, I would appreciate your input. My family branch left Michigan arround 1890 and moved to Aberdeen, WA. My Great Grandfather Grove Morgan worked for his uncle JM Weatherwax as a shipper for his lumbermills there, then moved to Pasadena, CA. where he died in 1907.
I am trying to find some probate records for Ruth Melburn. She was born in 1922 and died in 1978 in Grand Rapids, Kent Michigan. She was placed in the Kalamazoo hospital not sure of the year she was admitted. I am trying to get the probate or court records that had her placed there.
