This is the only information I have on her. Her half sister died in Mason Co MI at this time and that is how I found out about Mrs. Emma Van Horn. I'm trying to find proof of her half sister's maiden name and I was hoping someone might have easy access to the city directories for 1932. I'd appreciate any help with this request. Thank you. Iris

I know that Bertha had a sister Julia who married Herman Vielkind January 20, 1870. From death records for Bertha & Julia their parents were Frank/Franz Arnold & Agatha Blumrich. One of the witness' at Julia wedding was Josephine Arnold Weirich who married Peter Weirich. I am guessing that Josephine is also a sister of Bertha & Julia's. I would like to find a connection and possibly find other brother's or sister's. There is a Frank & Julius Arnold in the area also that could possibly be related. They were all born according to census records in Friedland, Bohemia, Austria. Can anyone help? Am willing to share the little that I have. Vicki giki8336@aol.com
Looking for any further information on the life of my Great Grand Father, John Smith Miller, beyond that given in Chapman's 1891 History of Grand Rapids, such as dates of service on the Road Commission or other public office and place of burial. I know his last residence was probably in Walker twp. near present 3 Mile Rd. and Walker Ave. Also interested in anything about his wife Eunice (Stebbins). John J. Miller

Whitehouse, died shortly after their marriage and left her with a daughter Merinda. I am trying to determine Merinda Whitehouse's father's name and family. Family data indicates Merinda's family moved to Michigan with a "Whitehouse uncle".

I was born in Nashville, TN in 1938. My Mother was Rose Catherine Taphorn, the second child of Aliene Parker and Ernest Taphorn. According to my Aunt Margaret, the third child of Aliene and Ernest, her father, Ernest had been married before and his wife had died in childbirth. She remembers the name Clemons and says he may have lived with them for a short time either on Joseph Ave or North First Street in Nashville. Margaret does not remember her father, but says he left them shortly after she was born (about 1920-22) and moved to Michigan. Aliene and Ernest had three children - Mildred, born about 1917, Rose, born about 1920 and Margaret, born about 1922. Mildred and Margaret are still alive and live in California. Does any of this connect?
