Iris, I checked the 1932 and 1933 city directories and there was no Emma Van Horn listed. This is the only information I have on her. Her half sister died in Mason Co MI at this time and that is how I found out about Mrs. Emma Van Horn. I'm trying to find proof of her half sister's maiden name and I was hoping someone might have easy access to the city directories for 1932. I'd appreciate any help with this request. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kFB.2ACE/751.856.1.4.2 Message Board Post: Dear Mary Your message is surprising to me. Since 1972 there is a Foundation called Stichting Ozewold Derk, which traces the family roots. It is not so active any more, but it succeeded in specifying our ancestors from what it defined as the "sixth generation" starting with Jacob Wanrooij who died 1764. Gerrit Wanrooij, (died 1993) who started the foundation, investigated the roots already from 1965 or earlier. From archives of a.o. Arnhem and Doetinchem he made up a list of the first five generations. Unfortunately later studies detected a number of wrong conclusions and errors and as a result it was concluded that the list was not valid. The surprising thing in your message is, that it qoutes the five missing generations according to Gerrits list. Our Jacob was baptized 1670, we don't know his birth day. We have several data that could not be connected or found in archives, f.e. the parents of Jacob Osewolt Dirk and Johanna Sprenkels as stated in table 1835/1840. Also there are is an earlier Wanraeij family mentioned in 1563 and 1568 in Doesburg, but a connection could not be found. Could you give me details of the information you have about your family, possibly the sources? I hope to hear from you soon (Texon@wxs.nl)
