Rhonda, Curious, to you have a Philemon Fleming in your files? I am looking for information on Philemon and Emily (St John) Fleming. Emily is listed in the June 1870 Ionia Co. Census with son, Archibald born in August 1869. Philemon shows up in July 15 1870 US Census for Wyandotte, Wayne Co, MI with wife Emma (we think Emily was named for her Aunt Emma and went by Emily instead) with son Archibald. Possible reason for Emily showing up on both 1870 census is that she was visiting her parents, Sylvester and Sarah St John in Ionia. If they don't like it... TAKE THEM OFF THE LIST!! Then they won't have to be bothered by the message. As one other user said, if you don't want it delete it. -----Original Message----- From: Larry Cartwright [mailto:lcartwri@student.lssu.edu] Sent: Saturday, February 16, 2002 1:01 PM To: MIKENT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MIKENT] 1900 Bio Lookups Yeah!!!! Good for you - I belong to a few of these lists, and there is one that has several "complainers" on it. What makes one person happy on it ticks someone else off. My advice would be this: unless the list manager asks you to discontinue something as being inappropriate, just disregard the nasty comments. Keep up your good work - most of us really appreciate it! Kathy in MO
Elly, Well said. I can't imagine anyone complaining about this. If someone requests a Lookup from a book about Kent County, I would prefer that if information is found that be posted to the list, whether or not I would have to delete it. One of those requests might lead to the discovery of someone who is researching a surname in which I also am interested. Furthermore, as was indicated on another list, another reason to "post individually to the list instead of personally [is] so the info will remain in archives."

Their 2 surviving children also came to Kent Co.: Adriana Johanna (1844-1932) who married Marinus van Poortvliet (Van Portfliet) and Jacobus Jan Snoek (1847-1918) who married Catharina Cornelia Quist. I'm interested in hearing from any descendants and exchanging info. My great-great grandmother, Johanna Snoek (1835-1907) married Marinus Nelisse and came to the U.S. in 1875, settling first in Cleveland, then in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Another brother, Anthony, may also have come to the U.S., but I haven't been able to locate him or his family.

Wait until that genealogy researcher needs help! Since I'm researching Kent Co., I'm curious to see who else is also....maybe we share the same names. I thought that this is what this group was about - helping others. Marti
