    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kFB.2ACE/3976.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Bonny, My Moe's also came from France. It was origionally spelled Meaux but was changed along the way to sound more American. I was looking through my genealogy sheet and there was an Anna Moe. Her father was Elam Moe and she would have been a sister of Irving Moe, my GG grandfather. I will look it over more and see if there are any names that are the same. I am thinking that if there is a connection that maybe Elam's brother might be where we have a common link. What was Ann Moe's fathers name if you know it? Elam parents were John Moe and his wife was Mary Tyler. Their children were John Jr., Alvin, Abraham, Elam, Samuel, Maria, and Harriett. They moved to Michigan around 1826/27 and settled in the Ann Arbor area. From there their children branched out in the southern lower Michigan area. Hope this helps some. Let me know if you see a connection here. Thanks, Sherry

My GG Grandfather was Irving Moe. His father's name was Elam Moe. I don't know if there is any connection here or not. I do know that some of Elam's relatives settled down by Ann Arbor and apparently there is a sporting goods store there name after the Moe's who founded it. Elam married a woman named Harriett Tompkins and they lived in Otisco Twp. in Ionia Township. Harriett died when Irving was about 10 years old I think. Elam then married a woman named Catherine Cooper. Let me know if any of this fits. I do have more names of the Moe's so if this does not fit I can go back in my records to see if there is a connection. I will check to see if there is a Mary Moe listed in my records. Thank you, Sherry

The bride was gowned in flesh pink georgette and carried a shower bouquet of bridal roses and sweet peas.
