Surnames: GOULD,EDWARDS,NUMMER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kFB.2ACE/4354 Message Board Post: I found a listing for a George Gould age 71 years who died September 21,1937 and was buried September 25,1937 in Maple Grove aka Kent County Poor Farm. I have been looking for my grandfather's brother George A. Gould b. Dec 11,1967 whose last known address was Grand Rapids,MI in 1914. He was unable to attend his mother's funeral because he was too ill to travel. I am wondering if this might be our George Gould. Can anyone tell me if this cemetery still exists? I tried to find it online but was unsucessful. Does anyone know where the records from the poor farm would be kept? I would just order the death certificate but it is expensive if this is the wrong person.Any ideas how I might find out more information on the poor farm and/or any more information on this George Gould? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ruth

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Chapman, Van Loon(Lieu),Gillett, Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kFB.2ACE/1750.1 Message Board Post: William Henry Chapman, Sparta Twp., Michigan, was a half brother of my great-grandfather Tracy Chapman. After William's mother Betsy Blake died, the father Harlow remarried to Catherine Van Loon (Lieu). When Harlow died of TB, the widow Catherine took her step children William H, and Ann Eliza, as well as her own three children, Lois, Tracy and Rhoda into the Shakers. Catherine died of TB while at the Shaker group at Groveland, NY, when Tracy was five years old. Eventually, I believe that all of the children left the Shakers. Harlow was the son of Thomas Chapman and Sarah Gillette, married at Roxbury, CT. in l800. Sons Harlow, Curtis and Sheldon were baptised there in 1807. Believe there was at least one more child-female. The family are believed to have moved to NY before 1813.Do not know Thomas's parents, and have looked for years.

Deming 1845-1924. I saw where he had 3 brothers, George, John and Frank and that the latter 2 were from Freeport. Is that Freeport, ME? I am looking for a John Deming, who would be my GG-grandfather. I'm told his full name is John Francis Deming, but I'm wondering about the "Francis" part. He had a son Frank Montgomery and Frank had 2 living sons Frank Montgomery and Almon Whitney. Do these names fit into your lineage? You may email me at JKCarter101098@hotmail.com. Thank you in advance for your help.
