I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Olive COLESON. The photograph was taken by the Fowler View Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The photograph is dated 1899 and pictures a woman and young girl in front of a house with another woman pictured in an upstairs window. The little girl appears to be about 6 years old with the two women in their 20's to 40's. Based on limited research, I was able to locate information regarding Olive I. COLESON daughter of Ira W. & Estella COLESON. The family is traced through various census records as follows: Big Rapids, MI - 1900 census: Ira W. Per a very brief death notice, my Harriet Ames died in GR in Oct. of 1881 while visiting with her daughter; so far I have found only one daughter, a Mary/Maria who md. Roscoe Moulton, but there may be others as this family has been very elusive and hard to track. Anyway, have to go with what I know, for now. Thank you for any help you can give. Have never been able to locate any death records or certificate for Harriet who was transported back to Ionia County where she is buried, in Danby Cem.

Three grand children were also the light of her life, Nathaniel Finneran, and Audrey and Meredith VanEssen. She participated in choir throughout junior and senior high as well as accompanying the choir on piano. She also played clarinet in the Greensburg Marching Band, violin in the orchestra and attended many county and district events. Sally kept the musical tradition in her family, encouraging her two daughters to expand their musical talent. As an adult, Sally was a member of the Plainwell United Methodist Church bell choir for more than fifteen years. The bell choir gained notoriety across the region and even performed in Eleuthera, Bahamas for a local church. She began her college education at Pennsylvania State University where she met her husband, George.
