I'm looking for an obituary for John Wiltse HAYNES of Grandville who died 6 May 1935. I found a tiny obituary for him in the Grand Rapids newspaper, but wonder if Grandville had its own newspaper (of if there was another local newspaper) that would have a more extensive obituary. If so, would you know where to access microfilm for it? Thank you for your Kent Co. expertise.

I have a problem my gr-gr-great grandmother Rozina Northrup/Northup is listed as dying July 15, 1872 in Kent County, Michigan.....On her marker in Alton cemetery. She is listed as dying July 17, 1869......I found a Rosina Northrup listed in the 1870 Iowa census next door to her son Calvin Northrup...My guess is her marker date is incorrect....Could someone check the Kent County death records for the correct date. I am not researching the Haynes family. http://www.mdch.state.mi.us/gendisx/scripts/individual.asp?UniqueID=486281 GENDIS records don't go back past 1867. Hope this info helps a little. Jeff

She suffered a heart attack. Mrs. CENTILLIhad lived here 57 years, of which 40 were spent on Scribner Ave. She was the widow of Frank CENTILLI who died 13 years ago. A native of Mollin, near Hamburg, Germany, she married there and the couple soon came to the US, settling here. She made four trips to Germany, the latest in 1928, following her husbands death. She is survived by four sons and a daughter, all living in Grand Rapids, 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The children are Frank, Lloyd, Adolph, Andrew and the daughter Mrs. Rose PRICE. Funeral services will be held Wed at 9AM from the St. Mary's church, which she attended during her years here. Burial is to be int he Mount Calvary cemetery. There seems to be an error, as Johanna's husband was Andrew.
