Agnes Thompson Cross would be a great aunt to my father but he has never heard of her mentioned in the family. I guess that goes to show how easy it is to lose touch with family. Hopefully I will be able to find members of this family so I can share family photos, stories etc with them so that the next generation will know each other a little better. Once again, thank you so much. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada - if there is ever anything I can help you with here just let me know. With sincere appreciation Thelma

Think they may be related to the Baker's of Plainfield Township....Can anyone out there help?? or point me to older death and marriage records than the ones that are available on Kent Co. Gen Web site?? Would anything at Rockford Library be worth the trip?? Thank you :)

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kFB.2ACE/5673 Message Board Post: Hello I have just found a branch of my family tree who moved to Michigan and am hoping that someone may be able to help with tracking down their burial sites and/or obits. I have two sisters of my great grandmother who married in Quebec and moved to Michigan where they died and are presumably buried. Their husbands were brothers, Isaac and John Cross. Agnes Thompson was born about 1857 in Wakefield, Quebec (parents were Isabella Larmour and Edward Thompson). She married John Cross who was born about 1859 in Quebec. They were married about 1882 and moved to Michigan shortly after. She is said to have had 5 children none of whom survived. I believe she died in Jan 1917 and that there was an obit printed in the Grand Rapids Herald. I would love to know to have the information from the obit and where she may be buried. Elizabeth Thompson was born about 1851 - 1859 in Quebec (parents were Isabella Larmour and Edward Thompson). She married Isaac Cross who was born in 1855 in Quebec. They were married about 1875 and moved to Michigan after 1881. She had three children who survived - John J. Cross who was born about 1884 Edith I. Cross who was born about 1886. She may have married a Schumann and a possible death date is Oct 21 1969 in Grand Rapids. William H. Cross I would love to know more about these ladies and their families. Sincerely Thelma

PROVENANCE: On June 26-28, 1970 there was an Estate Sale being held at 4131 Fulton E. The ad mentions a number of items, including pictures with the final statement, "Everything must go." I was 16 years old at the time and accompanied my mother to this sale. We'd both been bitten by the antique bug the year before. I was beginning to develop a fascination for antique photographs and this was also the year I first became involved in genealogy and local history...all compatible pursuits. At that time old family photographs could be had for a song. No one understood my fascination for these images. It was obvious by this collection that someone had cared enough to meticulously label every photograph and snapshot, and someone else...for whatever reason...had opted to sell them all. For years I cherished these images. It has only been due to my recent research that I have been able to compose these people within a genealogical/historical framework. And it is through th! is same research that I also discovered that Fay P. Friend, who had died on October 7, 1964, had resided at this address. The photo record acquired encompasses both Fay's ancestry and that of his wife, Glenna Daugherty.
