This is the site Jeff gave but I don't know how to make that squiggly line. The link he gave gives Fulton Cem with no link to the home site but Woodlawn must be there too. The east side is Protestant and the west side is Catholic. Its a big and active cemetery. www.rootsweb.com -squiggly line - mikent/cemeteries ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2006 10:00 PM Subject: Re: [MIKENT] Woodlawn Cemetery > Thank you for all the information on Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids. > I > think I will try and call and see what it would take to get a list. Someone just posted the url for the cemetery list although they used Fulton Cem. Woodlawn must be at the same site. I'd check that first before re-doing something that has already been done. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2006 10:00 PM Subject: Re: [MIKENT] Woodlawn Cemetery > Thank you for all the information on Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids. > I > think I will try and call and see what it would take to get a list. Thank you for all the information on Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids. I think I will try and call and see what it would take to get a list. I would not mind copying and typing and making it available.
The DAR read tombstones back in 1929-1931 for all of Kent County. Woodlawn is run by the City of Grand Rapids but the City is in a bad financial bind and has only one clerk working for all the cemeteries and she has to handle any current burial in all the City cems which takes priority over requests like yours. This only clerk works at Woodlawn Cem which is 2530 Kalamazoo Ave SE Grand Rapids, MI, 49507. It is better to contact her directly than to go through the City Recreation Department on Market Street. She does not have access to an online computer. The DAR list is on-line by cemetery. This 1929-31 list is also in straight alpa order at the Grand Rapids Pulic Library, 111 Library St NE 49503 but this list is not any more current. The on-line list is more up to date but I don't know how to paste the online address buts its a Kent County site provided by rootsweb as this list is. So you should be able to find it there, somehow. Of course, there may be another Woodlawn Cem somewhere else outside of the City of Grand Rapids. You don't specify any particular Cem in any particular City. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2006 8:22 PM Subject: [MIKENT] Woodlawn Cemetery > Is there anyway to find the names of those buried there? > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.1.407 / Virus Database: 268.12.13/463 - Release Date: 10/4/2006 > >

The Randles' (Randall, Randalls) were Quakers so in many of these cases they did not record the marriage as quakers alowed lay people to perform the ceremony most of the time. I think Lois went by Ann or Lois Ann and sometimes Louise Ann Baker. She may have been married to a Joseph Roberts first before 1874. This has been a very tall Brick wall!!!! Her sister is in only three census records. Once as Emogene in 1860 living with the Sweets , Melissa in 1870 also with the Sweets and then in 1910 living with her sister Ann (Baker) Randles in Missaukee Co., Mich. as Melissa Swigart (widowed). Because both girls were born between the censuses and their parents appear to have died before they were recorded under them...it has made it very difficult to find their parents... The only thing we have to go on is the possiability that they are somehow related to the Sweet family.
