Surnames: de Laat, Cornu, Loobeek Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.kent/8156/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Aarnout de Laat is born 13 October 1838 in Kloetinge,Zeeland, the Netherlands. According to the population register he emigrated to Grand Rapids on 12 November 1906,possibly to live with his son Cornelis de Laat, born 6 March 1878 in Kloetinge. Cornelis de Laat was married to Martina Sanderse. They had one daughter,Pieternella Paulina de Laat, born 12 December 1896 in Goes, when they emigrated to Grand Rapids. This couple arrived on Ellis Island on 8 May 1898. The ships manifest says they went to see their uncle Hubertus Verdonk. Questions: Aarnout, when did he arrive in Grand Rapids ? when did he die ? where's he burried ? Cornelis and Martina, what happened to them ? did they have more children ? when did they die ? where are they burried ? are there obits ? Pieternella Paulina, what happened with her ? did she get married ? children ? when did she die ? where is she burried? is there an obit ? I know there are/were a lot of de Laats but most of them originate from Brabant and not Zeeland. Hope someone can / is willing to help me. I had also found Royal J. Tuttle married to Ada Bowman on 9 Sep 1889, in Saginaw Co. I'm sure he's mine as his parents were listed as James and Rosannah Lapp. Now to check those elusive births to see who the mothers are. Jennie gave birth to Beulah, because her death date is the same as Beulah's birth, but need to find Gertrude's to see if Ada or Minnie is the birth mother. I believe it may be Minnie. Thanks so much, somehow I had missed this one. Peg

There are two daughters with names Jennie M. and Minnie L. I wonder if this could be your Fuller family. I'm not related, just a curious genealogy buff.

    3. Hello Peg. I, too, have rented many films trying to find marriage data for my ancestors, the John Hart(t)s and Lamports..... Good Luck with that.......Through trial and error, I found a few of my records. But, the state of Michigan had no marriage data for any of them........Records werent collected as often back then, I guess.... Since the Hartts were involved with the first Methodist Church in Kent....I would suppose they did not live in sin.....LOL !! Kathryn [email protected] wrote: Today's Topics: 1. Their father is Royal J. Tuttle. He was married twice and I believe Beulah's mother was Jennie Fuller who probably died in childbirth on May 1889. She is buried in Wexford County, Michigan. From census records his wife is Minnie,Miriam and Marion L in 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930. I haven't found his marriage to her, but found his marriage to Ada Bowman on 9 Sept 1889. I haven't located the birth records of either girl to prove who the mother is. 1910 Census gives Royal as being married twice. The FHL has films for these years, but doesn't give the book #'S, so would have to possibly order 3 or 4 films to get the right book. Can anyone help figure out which year to order? Am waiting for birth films to arrive to find the right mother. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated as to where to go from here. Or where to send for the certificates. Beulah J.
