I found several Dijkgraaf family-members, who changed their surname into DeGraff. I searched further. I now think Lena was married 11 November 1880 in Grand Rapids to Nahum Dean (findable on rootsweb.com). Someone with acces to Ancestry.com just told me he can find Nahum and Lena till 1930. Now how to find out when they died? They had no children! For Johanna I'm still searching. Gert

    1. [MIKENT] Durfee Embalming - Grand Rapids Mich

    3. I have quite a large picture of the employees of the Durfee Embalming Fluid Co.. Believe there are 32 people in this picture taken about 1895-1903. If you have a family member who worked there I could try and copy this on the scanner. The faces are beginning to fade, and their are no names. It must have hung on a wall for a good amount of time. On the bottom are the words Mich Eng. Co. A.W. Brown President.

They arrived in the USA 14 April 1873 with the vessel Calabria. Both were born in The Netherlands. Lena's father and Johanna's husband died in 1868 and Johanna travelled under her maidenname. The registration in Renesse tells they travelled to Grand Rapids (Michigan not mentioned). I cann't find them in the Censuses. Are there other ways? They perhaps went to Johanna's daughter from an earlier marriage; Cornelia Jonker (married to Cornelis Jonker). All help welcome! Thanks in advance, Gert Scholten Amsterdam The Netherlands

July 1893, 6 MI In the 1910 census, Ralph and Ella and sons are in Sparta 1920 there is a George married to Mary in Solon Twp 1930 there is a George married to Joy in Lowell with four sons and one daughter.
